Roberto Corradini is member of the Professional Lighting Designers’ Association (PLDA). His own code of ethics has been derived from the code set out by the association and he is expected to adhere to it.

In recognition of the impact that light has in affecting the quality of life throughout the world, and in accepting a personal obligation to our profession, its members and the communities we serve, Roberto Corradini embraces the three principles of professional conduct set out below.

Principle 1: Honesty and Integrity
PLDA lighting designers shall act with honesty and integrity at all times.

Principle 2: Competence
In the performance of his work Roberto Corradini shall act competently, conscientiously and responsibly. PLDA members must be able to provide the knowledge, the ability and the financial and technical resources appropriate for their work.

Principle 3: Relationships
PLDA members shall respect the relevant rights and interests of others.

The purpose of this Code is to promote professional good conduct and best practice. PLDA members will at all times be guided by its spirit as well as its precise and express terms.

Principle 1: Honesty and Integrity

1.1 PLDA expects its designers to uphold the dignity and reputation of their profession and to safeguard the public interest in matters relevant to the art, science and practice of Lighting Design.

As PLDA member, Roberto Corradini:

1.2 will act with impartiality, responsibility and truthfulness at all times in his professional and business activities.
1.3 will not allow themselves to be improperly influenced either by their own, or others’ self-interest.
1.4 should not be a part to any statement that he knows to be untrue, misleading or unfair to others, or contrary to his own professional knowledge.
1.5 should avoid real and perceived conflicts of interest whenever possible, to disclose them to affected parties when they do exist, and either remove its cause, or withdraw from that situation.
1.6 should respect confidentiality and the privacy of others.
1.7 will reject bribery in all its forms.

Principle 2: Competence

2.1 Roberto Corradini is expected to apply high standards of skill, knowledge and care in all his work.
2.2 actively maintains his professional competence through systematic improvement and broadening of his knowledge and skill.
2.3 will realistically appraise his ability to undertake and achieve any proposed work.
2.4 will keep his clients informed of the progress of a project and of the key decisions made upon the client’s behalf.
2.5 will use his best endeavors to meet the client’s agreed time cost and quality requirements for the project.
2.6 In the course of carrying out his professional duties, Roberto Corradini will be guided by considerations for the health safety, security and welfare of themselves, his colleagues and the public, and to disclose promptly factors that might endanger them or the environment.

Principle 3: Relationships

3.1 Roberto Corradini respects the beliefs and opinions of other people, recognize social diversity and treat everyone fairly. He has a proper concern and due regard for the effect that his work may have on people irrespective of race, religion, gender, disability, age or national origin.
3.2 aims to improve the wider understanding of light, (both natural and electrically generated), its appropriate application and its potential impacts.
3.3 aims to maximize the positive impacts of his work. In particular by considering the effect that his work may have on the people that use, inhabit and encounter it.
3.4 aims to minimize the negative impacts of his work. In particular the impact of his work on the environment (for example light pollution, energy usage and toxicity of equipment specified.
3.5 respects and acknowledge the work of other lighting designers.
